What happens after settlement?

If you are the buyer

Congratulations!

Contact the real estate agent to collect the keys.

If the seller lived in the property, you can collect the keys from 12 noon on the day after settlement. If the seller didn’t live in the property, you can collect the keys immediately.

We’ll send you a final settlement statement that sets out the disbursement of funds at settlement.

If you are the seller

Congratulations!

Contact your real estate agent to arrange to hand over the keys. If you lived in the property, you have until 12 noon on the day after settlement to move out and give the keys to the buyer. If you didn’t live in the property, you must give the keys to the buyer immediately.

We’ll send you a final settlement statement that sets out the disbursement of funds at settlement.
