Settlements are a series of dates you can’t miss. Laura Gaunt is the reason you don’t.

Laura leads the settlements team at Curae Law in Perth. She looks after the conveyancing process from signed contract through to settlement when you buy or sell property in Western Australia: the transfer of title, the searches and enquiries on the property and the coordination between you, the other side and the banks.

Settlements turn on the detail and Laura has an eye for it. She goes through the contract properly, keeps track of the dates you have to meet and tells you what’s coming before it lands on you. If something goes wrong on the other side or a bank is slow, you’ll hear it from Laura early rather than finding out at settlement. She’s easy to get hold of and she’ll explain anything you’re not sure about.

Laura sets a high standard for her own work and she holds it on every file. Clients notice. They come back when they buy or sell again and refer their friends and family to Laura by name.

Laura graduated from Curtin University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Relations and Chinese. She came to settlements from hospitality and retail. Looking after people is where she started.

Outside work Laura is an early riser who watches sport, reads and travels. China is her most memorable trip, for the culture, the environment and the history.
