What ID do I need to provide?

You must complete a verification of identity (VOI) check before settlement.

When you complete your identification check you must produce original and current identification documents in one of the following categories:

For Australian citizens or residents:

Option 1

  • Australian Passport; AND
  • Australian Driver’s Licence or Australian Proof of Age Card with photo (Photo Card); AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

Option 2

  • Australian Passport or Foreign Passport; AND
  • Birth, Citizenship or Descent Certificate; AND
  • Medicare, Centrelink or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Card; AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

Option 3

  • Australian Drivers Licence OR Photo Card; AND
  • Birth, Citizenship or Descent Certificate (with change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*); AND
  • Medicare, Centrelink or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Card; AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

Option 4

  • Australian passport or Foreign passport; AND
  • Another form of government issued photographic identity document AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

Option 5

  • Australian passport or Foreign passport; AND
  • Full birth certificate; AND
  • Another form of government issued identity document AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

For people who are not Australian citizens or residents:

Option 1

  • Foreign passport; AND
  • Another form of government issued photographic identity document AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

Option 2

  • Foreign passport; AND
  • Full birth certificate; AND
  • Another form of government issued photographic identity document AND
  • Change of name or marriage certificate, if necessary*

* Must be issued by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. Documents issued by a celebrant are not acceptable.

If you are unable to provide the minimum document requirements listed above please let us know as soon as possible.
